Flash Cards was developed to help you practice your knowledge of any subject using text phrases and picture flash cards. Text phrases are chosen from a table in the Phrase Maintenance Window and pictures are chosen from a folder created by the application in the Users/~/Documents folder where you place jpg picture files. The Setup Window lets you set the time a text phrase/picture is on-screen, the period between displays, the text color, bold/unbold, and text size. Most settings are saved between sessions.

NMS - 2.4b

NMS is a utility to force system sleep at a set idle time or on Screen Saver activation. It can follow Energy Savers settings in an "install and forget" way or operate completely independently. For me this solves the recurring problem of an invariably corrupt power manager preventing automatic sleep and the frequent dead batteries that result. Simple as this solution is it has worked great for me. My laptop ALWAYS sleeps. NMS now has provisions to allow for unattended wake events, like answering the modem or a scheduled wake-up, and per-application control over holding sleep, plus general improvements. If you can put your machine to sleep manually (short of being required to close the lid if it's a laptop) then NMS should be able to restore unattended sleeping on your machine.

XTrace - 1.1

XTrace allows you to receive trace() data without having to be in the flash IDE. XTrace wraps around a custom socket server I wrote in java that will accept connections via XMLSocket on port 9994. To easily send trace data to the 'trace server' you can use the custom debug class included with the download. After calling debug.initSocket("127.0.0.1"); all data passed to debug.trace() will be send through a socket and given to the 'trace server'. XTrace will display the data received from the 'trace server' in a floating window.

Sync-Hole - 0.8

Sync-Hole lets you fix your movies that are out of sync. You open a movie, play it until you detect an asynchronism, then tell the app wether you think the video or the audio is ahead, and by how much. Sync-Hole adjusts either the audio offset or the video framerate as appropriate. Then you set an "anchor" before and after the scene that is synchronized, and move on. Sync-Hole only changes the framerate in between anchors. It is basically a fancy wrapper for the Quicktime Framework function, ScaleTrackSegment. Other little features allow you to jump forward or back by a certain distance, or to jump to the spot half-way between the two most distant "anchors". Important bug: It seems that the program freezes if you set the playhead to a point in the movie where there's audio but no video. I don't know what causes this, or how to fix it. The source code is available, so maybe someone out there can fix the problem!
