AllBookmarks - 1.0
Don't you hate it when you can't remember where you bookmarked a website? Were you in Safari when you saved it, or Firefox? Heaven forbid you were in a browser you were just "test driving". Perhaps you were testing out Flock, bookmarked a site, and then decided Flock wasn't for you (don't flame me; I like Flock!).
AllBookmarks helps reduce the pain of searching all the browsers for that lost bookmark. By adding a new icon to your Mac OS X menu bar you can quickly access all your bookmarks. All your Safari, Firefox and Flock bookmarks are shown and can be selected. AllBookmarks also gives you access to your 1Passwd 1Click bookmarks so you can navigate to a page, fill the form, and submit it, all with a single click!
What's new in this version:
* [NEW] New icon design
* [NEW] Added support for Firefox, Flock, and Safari
* [NEW] Added support for 1Passwd 1Click login bookmarks

Transform - 0.10.4
I find Excel to be brilliant for making pretty sequences and sequence alignments - however each character needs to be in a separate cell.
So I wrote a little utility to do often used text / sequence transformations:
* Insert Tab before / after each character
* Insert Return after each character
* Keep only letters a-Z
* Format in blocks of 3, 10, 50, 100
* Remove leading / trailing / multiple spaces
* Reverse / complement/ invert DNA sequence
* Translate DNA sequence in frame 1 / 2 / 3
* Backtranslate protein into human / E. coli DNA (using the most frequently used codon)
* Convert 3-Letter AminoAcid code into 1-Letter code
* Convert 1-Letter AminoAcid code into 3-Letter code (spaced / tabbed)
* Get protein sequence info
... and much more (just ignore the bits you don't need)
If there are other transformations you'd like just drop me a line .
Please note that this program will run as it is - there is no installation, no files will be put anywhere (registry, system, etc in the Windows version) so it should even run if you are on "managed computers" like we are in our lab (which is a pain in the neck in 99% of all cases - IT support should be there for us, not the other way round)
What's new in this version:
* universal binary
* bug fixes
* 'format in blocks' no longer removes all spaces, tabs and returns first
* improved window handling

Inkscape - 0.45.1
Inkscape is an open source drawing tool with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, and CorelDraw that uses the W3C standard scalable vector graphics format (SVG). Some supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, and grouping. In addition, Inkscape supports Creative Commons meta-data, node-editing, layers, complex path operations, text-on-path, and SVG XML editing. It also imports several formats like EPS, Postscript, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats
What's new in this version:
This is only a bug-fix release so do not expect any shiny new features, but enjoy it like it was a new one. There are several bugs repaired and translations updated in this bug-fix release.

MagiCal - 1.09
MagiCal is a FREE menu-based clock and calendar. It features a huge range of configuration options for how the time and date are displayed, and can operate either in addition to, or instead of, the built in system menu clock. In addition to this, MagiCal features a handy drop-down calendar that can be torn off and placed anywhere on screen.
What's new in this version:
* Corrected a bug in the fuzzy clock that would cause "twelve noon" to be displayed as "twelve o'clock" under some circumstances.
* Corrected a bug in the fuzzy clock that would cause "midnight" to be displayed as "twelve noon".
* "Same Font as Time" option now works correctly.
* Reverted days in Japanese date icon to using English abbreviations instead of Romanji.
* Added new colourful icon option for menu calendar.
* Added German localisation for fuzzy clock. Thanks go to Michael Weber for the translation.
* Added localised month names for Japanese.
* Added Japanese date format YYYY年M月D日 to date dropdowns, and made this the default format for that localisation. This format could in fact always have been used, however it will hopefully now be more obvious that this is the case. Thanks go to Chris Jacques for his advice on tackling Japanese localisation issues.

Screenshot Helper - 1.2
Screenshot Helper shows a full screen window with a solid color or a desktop picture so that you can take clean screenshots without having irrelevant windows and desktop icons in the background.
The easiest way to get a clean desktop for screenshots on Mac OS X is to create a brand-new user account and log in as a brand-new user. But if you need to use your own user account for whatever reason and you have a messy desktop like I do, you can use this application to hide the actual desktop and take clean screenshots.
# Support multiple screens.
# Use the Preferences panel to change the color or the desktop picture.
# Shift - drag the window to snap to the edge of screen.
# Press command - B to show/hide the menu bar and the dock.
# Press command - E to cover the entire screen.
# Press command - D to cover the desktop icons only.
You can make the entire screen black, white, red, green, or blue to check dead or stuck pixels on your LCD screen, or for a blue or green screen chroma key.
What's new in this version:
* Multiple screen support.
* Added an option to cover the desktop icons only.
* Fixed minor bugs.

Yahoo! Widget Engine - 4.0
The Yahoo! Widget Engine (formerly known as Konfabulator) is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your WiFi signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.
What sets Yahoo! Widget Engine apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of today's advanced graphics. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Windows XP and Mac OS X.
The format for these Widgets is completely open and easy to learn so creating your own Widgets is an extremely easy task.
For the "skinning" crowd, Yahoo! Widget Engine is a dream come true. You can easily change the look, feel, layout, even functionality of a Widget so that it matches your lifestyle, your desktop, or the pants or skirt you have on that day.
