LocationChanger - 1.2

LocationChanger automatically reconfigures many programs and resources according to IP address, wireless network ID, gateway MAC address, physical location, ISP, or network connection speed. Currently LocationChanger is capable of automatically modifying the following:

* NFS automounts
* Privoxy settings
* host file settings
* default printer
* Mail server and account
* iChat status and services
* Location setting in Network Preferences
* proxy status

Additionally, if growl is found, it notifies you of the new IP address, location name, and the hardware device of the new connection. It also contains a security component which send e-mails detailing unrecognized locations. This includes the ability, with apporpriate support software and hardware, to e-mail a picture when an unrecognized location is detected.

WaterRoof - 1.6 beta 1

WaterRoof is a firewall management frontend with bandwidth tuning, NAT setup, port redirection, dynamic rules tracking, predefined rule sets, wizard, logs, statistics and other features. With WaterRoof you can set up the IPFW built-in firewall easily and quickly. With the NAT Setup feature you can fine-tune your internet sharing for the home LAN, or you can also set up a full-featured dual-homed firewall for your network. Rules and network option can be stored and loaded at boot time. WaterRoof is only a frontend so it makes use of system tools: this means that when you have finished configuring/testing your firewall, you can safely delete WaterRoof from your system, without loosing your rules. Bandwidth settings, firewall rules, NAT rules, forwarding, logging and other options will be preserved and activated at boot using launchd, following Apple guidelines. This means that WaterRoof is quite safe because it does not install any strange kernel extension or background daemon. You can also download and check WaterRoof source code, it's open. WaterRoof can be used to learn how ipfw works: you can use predefined rule sets to test firewall behaviour, or you can use the wizard to start from scratch with a step-by-step configuration. But WaterRoof can also be used to deeply configure a ipfw firewall/router, using every ipfw option including qos (dummynet queues). English documentation included. coconutWiFi - 2.0

coconutWiFi displays you a small aqua-bubble at the top of your screen which indicates whether you're in range of a wireless network or not. The app also tells you if the wireless networks in your range are encrypted or open, so you won't miss the next open wireless network any more. Remote Activity - 0.1.2

Remote Activity is like a distributed version of the Mac utility Activity Monitor: you add your remote hosts (eg clusters, supercomputers, workstations, grids) to it, and it queries them regularly for running jobs, and summarizes the status of all of your calculations in one window. Out of the box it supports a number of batch systems — SGE, LSF, PBS, and Xgrid — and can also be used with the ps command to monitor interactive runs.

Webmin - 1.350

Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Unix. Using any browser that supports tables and forms (and Java for the File Manager module), you can setup user accounts, Apache, DNS, file sharing and so on.

Webmin consists of a simple web server, and a number of CGI programs which directly update system files like /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/passwd. The web server and all CGI programs are written in Perl version 5, and use no non-standard Perl modules.

ARDMonitor - 1.1

ARDMonitor shows the state of Apple Remote Desktop (disabled, enabled, connected) - even if the Administrator asked for permission to monitor/control (that's what ARD's menu extra doesn't).

ARDMonitor comes in two flavours:

- "ARDMonitor" - The normal faceless program which will show an icon on the right side of the menu bar.
- "ARDMonitor unquittable" - The same as the above, but it lacks the option to quit the program - maybe useful if you're dealing with lusers.

Radmind - 1.8.1

A suite of Unix command-line tools and a server designed to remotely administer the file systems of multiple Unix machines. For Mac OS X, there's also a graphical interface.

At its core, radmind operates as a tripwire. It is able to detect changes to any managed filesystem object, e.g. files, directories, links, etc. However, radmind goes further than just integrity checking: once a change is detected, radmind can optionally reverse the change.

Each managed machine may have its own loadset composed of multiple, layered overloads. This allows, for example, the operating system to be described separately from applications.

Loadsets are stored on a remote server. By updating a loadset on the server, changes can be pushed to managed machines.

Also available is the Radmind Assistant, a Mac OS X Cocoa frontend for the radmind tools.

More importantly, LFT implements numerous other features, including TCP, UDP, and ICMP trace methods, AS number lookups through several reliable sources, loose source routing, netblock name lookups, and more. LFT also distinguishes between TCP-based protocols, which make its statistics slightly more realistic, and gives a savvy user the ability to trace protocol routes, not just layer-3 hops.
